Two Tired Teachers

Resealing RV Door with Stop Leak
Resealing RV Door with Stop Leak
Today, Sharon is going to be reskinning the door, part II. After 2 years ago, Sharon worked on the door by cutting contact paper to the right size, and stuck it to the door. That lasted about a year and a half, but where
h the cracks in the door sealant were, the contact paper began to pull away from the door. More air got behind the contact paper, and it continued to pull away from the door. That's why we needed another solution.
The proper way to skin a door is to take the door down, go into your workshop. Buy something like a shower wall and use a table saw or jig saw to cut a lining for the door. Use some industrial strength adhesive and clamps and clamp...

We want to tell you how it's working. We took a six week long trip to Madison, Wisconsin and beyond. It was our first lengthy trip using the solar set up. We had no hookups for the entire trip, and we had a lot of rain. We also took ...

Why We Dispersed Camp If you've watched our channel for some time, you know that we started doing some dry camping in 2019. We've had some viewers question why we would do that. In this video we hope to answer that question. In the campsite where we shot this video, we were about a mile and a half from pavement. Why Does God Allow Pain?

Why does God Allow Pain? People often wonder why God allows bad stuff to happen to us. They wonder why this life hurts so much. It may not be true for everyone, but for me, it took a whole lot of pain for God to get my attention. I became a Christian when I was eight. When I got to be 19 or 20, a full fledged adult who knew a lot, I fell away, and I fell hard. There was a lot of sin in my life....

Great little campground. I've stayed there many times. There used to be another one called Teal Pond that's just right around the corner but the U.S.Forest Service closed it. You can still go back there but it's completely grown over.
Good morning. Got a question about leaving your camper at a dispersed site while you go exploring. Have you ever had any problems with vandalism?
@@kevinkeeney3411 We have never had any problems when we left our trailer while we were out and about. Great question.
Great tip on the Coleman stadium seat. I was trying to figure out how to get higher back support

I wonder if other makers build these units of the same BTU output that does not need draining. I know some of the larger BTU output portables have the no need to drain feature.
@@myvenusheeler If you live in a low humidity area, that might work really well for you. We don't know anything about the portables without the drain feature.

@@naturelover1284 At that point we used Campendium look up where to find National Forest Campground. Now we use IOverlander to find spots.
In the fuse box of your vehicle there should be an outlet which switches off when you turn the engine off. If you feed that into your DC to DC converter you won't have to worry about draining your vehicle battery. Care should be used not to let too much current through the DC DC converter as you may "melt the wires". I've been doing this with the lithium batteries in my four-wheel camper for years and basically don't have to worry about the solar panels at all.
@@vonrollveeg Glad you are pleased with what you have. We're very pleased with what we have.
Agreed. Saul chased David for many years, trying to kill him, he dealt with this temptation also. No one is exempt. The enemy knows how to provoke, and intimidate to the point of anger and unforgiveness-it's an ongoing battle, to admit it to the Lord, and forgive.
@@nigthwtachman-lacIt's easy to think Biblical heros of the faith weren't tempted, yet we know they were.
Truly enjoy your videos- keep ‘em coming! What was cost of this upgrade?
@@harryprice5062 Glad you enjoy our videos, and as long as it's still fun, we plan to keep them coming. The solar install was roughly $7,500 by the time we added the extra battery and the external panels.
Thank you for updating!
@@garyb4929 Certainly. We like sharing things when we're pleased with our purchases or when we think we didn't get what we'd planned on, we want to let you know
I'm really surprised they didn't give you a DC-DC charger that would automatically know if the tow vehicle is running or not. The Renogy one (and others, I'm sure) have an extra wire that watches for a signal to know whether or not to draw from the tow battery but the Victron, that I went with, automatically watches the voltage coming in from the battery and when it goes above a certain charge that is an indication that the alternator is running and it automatically knows that the tow vehicle's engine is running. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
@@KirbyVandivort That was an add-on that they don't usually do.
Thank you! Very interesting!!

@@SheltiesRule49First, thank you for saying we're amazing. We're just like to share when we get things that work beautifully for us. If you decide to do it, the people who sell it should be able to tell you exactly how many panels you should get and the size of the lithium battery. Always impressed by y’alls ability to dry camp. I would be interested in your dry camping setup to be comfortable. I always envision dry camping being an in between sort of situation, so that you eventually get to go to a full hookup and catch up bathing, water, sewer, etc. I would be interested to see how you all do it.
@@luisreviews6412 Because of the solar setup we have now, we honestly don't need hookups. We take quick showers, and we carry 8 one gallon water jugs to supplement our fresh water tank. Last year we were gone for six weeks and never had hookups. When we are in a state or national park, we will use their dump stations and fresh water. We also look on I Overlander and Compendium to find free dumps and water.
It’s nice to see you girls still enjoy your trailer! We’ve been watching for a long time and it’s been a great “journey” with you! We now have our own Winnebago (Travato) and really are enjoying our travel. Thanks for all the great videos and the info you share! 😁🤙⛺️

God is not a slot machine or a genie. Neither is He an accuser. We must be careful not to be an accuser of others or of self. Life is just hard because we are not God and it’s not anyone’s fault. Even ourselves. Forgiveness of self first and of others second (if they ask). Vengeance is the lords. Bitterness is ok and even fruitful. Bitterness is not the same as vengeance.

Sometimes the truth is hard to hear. This one felt like the one I needed to hear today. I'm wondering if you have ever taken the trailer through a weigh scale, to check if you are over weight with all the add ons.

@@bertkelly7650 Bert, we just replaced the tires, but the time is coming for us to replace the awning. We can commiserate with you when that time comes.
Two things. The factory runs these so just fill with oil and run it. 2nd, do not run a generator for any period of time without a load. You are not breaking in an engine without a load on it and if you are going to let it just run you need to put some kind of load from the start.
